Forensic Interview
Forensic Interview is the act of conducting an in depth interview with a person and extracting all usable information from the subject as it relates to the law. Usable is a term relative to the issue at hand and to the needs of the attorney. With over thirty years of experience in conducting interviews, we generally have great success in this area. After the session is completed, a comprehensive report is provided to the attorney or person requesting the interview. We use this type of interview with client control matters on a large scale and with witnesses that may know something but may not be aware it. In most cases this type of interview takes two hours or more
Forensic Audio Enhancement
Forensic Audio Enhancement is conducted using the DC6 Live Forensic Audio Enhancement software. This is the same software utilized by large federal agencies such as DEA, CIA, and FBI when cleaning or enhancing audio files. A short explanation of the process is that we take an audio file, regardless of the media i.e., tape or CD, and download it into our computers. Then using the DC6Live software, we remove the background noise and enhance the good audio signal to a level that is suitable for transcription. There are some audio files that are absolutely not workable and the noise level is far greater than the “good audio” signal level. In all cases we would listen and evaluate the original file to see if there is any enhancement we can do to a file prior to actually conducting the work. This is a very time consuming activity.
